Discovering DIARRA BLUE
DIARRA BLUE is a label of contemporary life style launched in 2015 by the Senegalese designer Diarra Bousso in order to highlight the rich colors of the African continent and unique patterns through practical and versatile pieces. The brand debuted in New York in 2015 before moving to Dakar, Senegal, in 2016. Thanks to a sculptural celebration of geometry and modern art, the collections are marked by strong structural cuts, bold impressions and colorful accents. While constantly experimenting with new techniques, Diarra appreciates its Senegalese stylists and leather workers with its unconventional designs. 90% of the collections are produced ethically in Dakar, Senegal, by local artisanal communities. The DIARRABLU SWIM 2017 collection, entitled "INFINITY", explores again Diarra's fascination with the concept of dreams and their multiplicative effect on the imagination. With a particular passion for mathematics, the designer celebrates the notion of infinity by transforming 6 basic swimsuits and 4 overloads into at least 25 distinct swimsuit looks using combinatorics.
