ENTRE DEUX RIVES - AFC, AN ETHNIC BRAND ENGAGED AGAINST EXCISION

The idea of the brand Entre Deux Rives - AFC was born from the meeting between Adeline Faure-Chognard, creator in St-Malo, Brittany, and 10 former cutters of Guédiawaye, a city on the outskirts of Dakar. In search of reconversion, they are trained, since 2012, to high-end sewing by the association of Adeline Faure-Chognard. Entre Deux Rives - AFC blends Western cuts with the colors and fabrics of the African continent.

Now that the seamstresses are trained and autonomous, Adeline Faure-Chognard needs to make the brand known in Europe and for this, she needs a website worthy of the name. To do so, it launched a participatory fundraising campaign on Ulule. Objective: to perpetuate the new job of the old circumcisers thanks to the donations of Internet users.
But also to make her brand known which will make the training of other ex-cutters possible in Senegal and on the African continent.
According to UNICEF's latest report in February 2016, 200 million women have been sexually mutilated in the world in 2015. Although this practice is declining in many countries, it is far from being completely forgotten and is continuing to make many victims in the world.
