Maureen Ayité
This month we would like to put the spotlight on young designer Maureen Ayité. Originaly from Benin, Maureen is the founder of the Nana Wax clothing brand that started in 2012. While in France to complete higher education, the young Beninese soon discovered her passion for fashion and decided to create a facebook page that promoted the infamous African loincloth better known as wax . When she didnt receive recognition or success from the facebook page she decided to think bigger. She opened a shop in the capital of her home country Cotonou. At the age of 27, Maureen has sucessfully launched her business and now offers a variety of clothing, accessories, and shoes for men and women and children . Truly an inspiration to young designers that hope to launch a career in fashion.
